Poleg Beach complaints: Netanya residents challenge facilities and access
Residents report shortages of affordable beach chairs, unpleasant odours and access difficulties at Poleg Beach; Netanya municipality responds.

A dispute over facilities at Poleg Beach in Netanya has prompted a response from the city. According to an October 11 report by 90FM, beachgoers complained about the availability of lower-cost chairs and umbrellas, odours near a waste collection point and access to the shore. These are visitors’ allegations, not independently verified findings.
Regular visitor Rivka Sasportas told the station the difficulties had persisted since the start of the bathing season. She said more expensive loungers were laid out while ordinary chairs were harder to obtain, and raised concerns about smells near one of the passages used by visitors.
Netanya municipality told 90FM that the city’s bathing season has been extended to October 24. It said chairs, loungers and umbrellas are available near the lifeguard station and supplied by beach staff. The disputed passage, the municipality said, is reserved for service, delivery and emergency vehicles, including refuse collection. A marked public access route is located near the accessible parking area.
The conflicting accounts leave open a practical question for visitors: whether facilities and designated routes are readily usable on the ground.
