Police linked the teenagers to stealing and emptying fire extinguishers; three were fined NIS 730.

Police told 90FM that Netanya station officers and municipal inspectors questioned about 15 teenagers while investigating a dangerous trend: fire extinguishers were allegedly stolen from residential buildings and discharged in public places for a viral social-media challenge.
Police said three teenagers aged 14–15 were caught during the alleged acts and each received a NIS 730 municipal fine. More than ten others were later questioned with their parents present. The allegations have not been proven in court.
Police warned that removing extinguishers can leave residents without vital first-response equipment during a fire. Parents were urged to discuss online challenges with their children, while building committees were asked to secure fire cabinets without restricting emergency access.
