Israel marks Aliyah Day on October 18, recognizing new immigrants and their contribution to the country. Established by the Knesset in 2016, it falls on the seventh of Cheshvan, near the weekly Torah reading Lech Lecha.

According to the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency, more than 20,000 people immigrated from around 100 countries between September 23, 2025, and September 3, 2026, approximately 6% fewer than the previous year.

Russia accounted for 5,685 arrivals, followed by France (4,364), the United States (3,333), the United Kingdom (975), Ukraine (797) and Belarus (491).

Netanya welcomed 2,224 immigrants, ranking second nationwide after Tel Aviv (2,762) and ahead of Jerusalem (2,134).

People aged 18–35 made up 35% of arrivals, and children and teenagers 24%. Another 414 physicians also immigrated. The two oldest newcomers were 102, from Russia and France; the youngest was a two-week-old baby from Mexico.
